The History of The Saddlery
Steeped in history, The Saddlery dates back to about 1840. From 1880 to the 1950s, it served as the workshop of Ernest “Baggy” Larder, a skilled craftsman who specialized in the creation and repair of saddles and harnesses.
In the 1980s, the property was transformed from a workshop to a home. Fast forward to June 2017, after a comprehensive renovation, it was reborn as The Saddlery Holiday Cottage.
Since its inauguration, The Saddlery has been recognized with awards and has played host to over 500 guests from both the UK and around the globe. Many of these guests have become regulars, testament to the charm and comfort of The Saddlery. Some were so captivated by the area that they decided to make North Thoresby their permanent home!
The Saddlery, once a humble craftsman’s workshop, now stands as a beloved holiday cottage, continuing to create history with each guest it welcomes.
